Cellulite and orange peel cellulite

The skin

It is composed of 3 layers.

The epidermis: The very superficial part thick one tenth of a millimeter.

The dermis: Connective tissue consisting essentially of collagen and elastin fibers. It is very vascularized and a thickness of 1 to 3 millimeters.

The hypodermis: Greasy tissue of varying thickness ranging from a few millimeters to several centimeters; It is made up of conjunctive partitions perpendicular to the surface of the skin that fit into the deep face of the dermis. These partitions determine lobules responsible for storing the adipocytes.

In cellulite, these greasy lobules increase in volume and protrude both in the dermis in depth and also on the surface.

As the inter-lobular partitions are not extensible the skin is drawn in deep which gives the appearance of "orange peel" and padding.

Cellulite

It is an increase in the thickness of the hypodermis associated with a more or less significant increase of the dermis according to two mechanisms:

  • Increased size and / or number of adipocytes.
  • Increased water infiltration into the tissues.

Cellulite corresponds to:

  • Has an alteration of the superficial dermis responsible for the appearance of orange peel.
  • And to an alteration of the deep dermis and the hypodermis responsible for the volume and its form.

it mainly affects the thighs and buttocks, but it can also be on the abdomen, calves and arms.

According to polls, 80% of women have cellulite, and the rest of the female population think it will!

Cellulite is found more often in women, whose subcutaneous fat is more superficial, skin thinner than men, while the latter have diagonally structured fibers less favorable to give the appearance of orange peel.

Several factors are at the origin of cellulite: heredity, sex, percentage of body fat, age, skin thickness, sedentary lifestyle, insufficient hydration, poor eating habits, smoking, etc…

In addition, it can appear after puberty, after pregnancy or following the taking of anovulants, which indicates a possible hormonal influence.

Schematically, there are 4 types of cellulite:

  • Greasy: soft cellulite, painless to the touch. It appears when you pinch the skin.
  • Hydric (also called "oedematous cellulite" or "cellulite hydrolipodystrophy"): cellulite accompanied by significant water retention.
  • Fibrous or fibrolipodystrophy: cellulite hard and painful to the touch.
  • Mixed

The fat cell destocke its lipid vacuole composed of triglycerides in fatty acids and glycerol thanks to a lipase. It stores the opposite thanks to lecithin.

Scientifically documented studies have shown that there is no significant elevation of lipid levels in the blood after these destocking.

The adipocyte

The adipocyte is a spherical cell composed of a lipid vacuole and many different sympathetic and steroidal alpha and beta receptors.

The alpha-receptors extremely sensitive to insulin are lipogenetic and promote the storage of fat.

The beta-receptors are lipolytic and are responsible for fatty melt.

The adipocyte has the capacity to store the fatty acids by transforming them into triglycerides (lipogenesis) and depleting the triglycerides by converting them into fatty acids (lipolysis).

Triglycerides of fatty tissues activated by lipolysis release their fatty acids into the circulation and are used by the muscles.

Anti-cellulite treatment

Cellulite treatment requires a holistic approach, not a single treatment:

  • Eating a balanced diet.
  • Eating less salt and caffeine.
  • Getting more exercise will also contribute to treatment.

The purpose of anti-cellulite therapy is therefore:

  • Restructure the superficial dermis and therefore tone the connective tissue.
  • Reduce the deep layer by lipolysis.
  • Improve microcirculation and lymphatic circulation.

The reduction of the deep layer is made by the hydrolysis of fat into fatty acids, then the fatty acids will be precipitated in the cycle of citric acid where they will be transformed into pyruvates and lactates, metabolites which will serve as preferential fuel to the muscles that Contracted in the vicinity: the released fatty acids are thus consumed by the muscular contraction.

The techniques

We use three different techniques for the treatment of cellulite detailed in the following tabs:

In December 2010 the HAS followed by the Ministry of Health gave the following conclusions on the techniques of treatment of cellulite:

  • The use of adipocyte lysis techniques using injections of hypo-osmolar solutions poses a serious danger to human health.
  • The use of adipocyte lysis techniques using injections of lipolytic products (phosphatidylcholine and / or sodium deoxycholate) poses a serious danger to human health.
  • The use of adipocyte lysis techniques using injections of mesotherapeutic mixtures presents a serious danger to human health.

  • The use of adipocyte lysis techniques using transcutaneous laser without aspiration poses a serious danger to human health.

Apart from the surgical techniques and the cell-M6, all other methods were therefore prohibited.

It has the disadvantage of being very "physical" for the operator hence the search for alternative techniques now prohibited.

Various technical variations make it possible to treat the appearance of orange peel and the fibrous component when it is present very effectively.

The released fatty acids must be "consumed" by muscular work within 20 minutes after the palpate-rolled to prevent their re-absorption in other parts of the body.

Criteria for Patient Selection

At the end of the medical assessment a summary is made according to an evaluation grid taking into account each of the elements.

Customizing the program

A patient being eligible for treatment the personalization of the treatment program makes a synthesis between:

THE PRINCIPLE

The liporadiology device, thanks to hand pieces of different dimensions depending on the location of the body, simultaneously performs a mechanical rolling action, a radio frequency action and a red LED action.

This is the general principle of cryosurgery.
